022I recently finished a diet challenge at Powerhouse Gym in Torrance, CA, where I train clients and workout myself. I started a diet February 1st and posted a sign to see who might be interested in doing the challenge with me…to my surprise, 13 other people, some my clients and some just gym members, men and women alike, took the challenge. I gave them all a diet that was commensurate with their age, gender, and caloric needs along with a daily cardio/calorie expenditure sheet. They were required to weigh in every week and turn in their cardio sheets with a minimum of 3500 calories burned per week. As I said we finished this past weekend and it was a success for 100% of the group, in that everyone experienced results in one way or another. We had started a “pool” at the beginning so that everyone could vote at the end of it all on who they thought accomplished the most. It was a great day this past Saturday when one of the challengers brought champagne and another brought chocolate…..too much fun! A toast was had by all and we voted on the winner of the “kitty”!!! One of the competitors met her goal of losing 15 lbs in 2 months, while yet consuming enough calories to maintain her energy enough to compete in regional Scottish games AND break records and win!!! Congratulations to Heather, you set your mind to a goal and you reached it! I am so privileged to be a part of the success and empowerment!!!

    Thank you for guiding us all through the diet challenge, Maire! It felt great to achieve more with diet than I ever had before. And continuing to get stronger was a nice bonus, too. Big Congratulations to Heather on her accomplishments!!!

    Thank you Allen. It’s always fun to challenge people to push their own limits and actually get more out of it than was expected going into it.
